All Scripture is inspired by YHVH and is useful to teach us what is true. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
Timothy 3:16
The LORD has given us the Bible. All of it, the NEW and the OLD Testament. the Old Testament is still valid as it was when Paul wrote this letter to Timothy. When we read "the scripture" or "according to the Scriptures" the author is actually referring to the OLD Testament as that is all the New Church had. The New Testament was only put together much later.
