Wow! I have just read Acts 1 and 2, but when I read it, it was as if I had never read it before. I strongly encourage you to go read through Acts again. So many truths are revealed, truths that are so often glanced over or taken for granted.
I will share a few things that stood out for me in the above to chapters:
The Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) is a promise from Yah. Yahshua, tells his followers to remain in Jerusalem until they received the promise of Abba Shebashamayim (Father in Heaven). Imagine what would have happened if they had disobeyed! There would have been no Ruach HaKodesh!
Interestingly, they asked Yahshua if He was going to restore the kingdom of Israel , this was not the first time that He had been asked this question. Yahshua answered them that it was not up to them to know Yah’s times or seasons. However, Israel is being restored during this time, Israel is a land of Living Prophecy !
When Yahshua ascended on a cloud to heaven, two angels appeared and reassured them by saying that He will return again, in the same way. He will therefore return on a cloud in Jerusalem !
In verse 14 of chapter 1 it says that they all continued with prayer and supplication, among them were men and women. Together they were a hundred and twenty. In verse 41 of chapter 2, three thousand people accepted Yahshua, repented and were baptised, after Peter testified to them. In the last verse of chapter 2 we are told that Yah added people daily. None of these people were saved by alter calls. Now I am not saying that alter calls are bad, but churches sometimes rely fully on bringing people to Christ through alter calls or even tracking them done after their first visit and “trying to convert them”. We see here that these people are saved because they gladly received the word. Rauch HaKodesh had moved their hearts and they opened their hearts for Yahshua. Furthermore, new believers were baptised. In verse 38 of chapter 2, Peter says, “Repent, and be baptised everyone of you, in the name of Yahshua Meshiach for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Ruach HaKodesh.” Now, I do not know about you, but I have never seen a baby repent!
Do you know where “christening” and “baby baptism” comes from? It originates from Pagan Sun worshipping. When a baby was baptised, the “priest” (or whatever you call that person) would face his back towards the sun, the baby would be dunked in water and then held up so that his/her face would face the sun. This was intended to spiritually blind the child. Unfortunately, this “tradition” was infiltrated into the church. You can read through the entire bible, but you will find no references to baby baptism. It is important to remember that no matter how many time we read our bibles, go to church, get baptised or even confirmed, we will not be accepted into heaven unless we have accepted Yahshua and salvation it not just a free ticket out of hell.
I myself can testify to this. When I was a baby, my parents christened me, as this was the “tradition”. However, when they found out that it was not actually a biblical thing, they repented and renounced what they had done. Later when I accepted Yahshua as my Lord and Saviour and was baptised I literally felt as if a covering had fallen off my eyes, it was as if they were scales. My eyes are now spiritually wider; they do not just see the surface, but also the deeper layers. Baruch Adonai!
There is so much more that I would love to share with you from these chapters, but unfortunately, I have run out of time tonight. I challenge you to go read through these two chapters and ask Yah to reveal things to you, you will be amazed!
To everyone who celebrated Yom Kippur, I pray that you had a wonderful day, may you be blessed!
